Inspirational Trucking
The grass roots truckers' convoy is a signal that we're not gonna take it anymore
Canadians have found their mojo with the trucker convoy heading across this vast wintry country, and that is a good feeling. As my neighbour said while showing me trucker videos on her iPhone: for the first time in a long time, I feel proud to be Canadian. The scenes of thousands of trucks and people united in the righteous cause to do away with all Covid mandates forever is wonderful. Finally! We’ve had enough of being bullied by Trudeau and his henchmen and listening to a corrupt media repeat lies and heap abuse on people who dare to ask questions and resist the ‘official’ narrative.
Speaking of which, I got into a strange exchange with a CBC journalist re a mealymouthed story she wrote about the Convoy. It’s worth repeating because it shows just how this situation being handled by our National Broadcaster.

That article you wrote was as carefully worded as a memo by one of Trudeaus flunkies. How about doing some real journalism and actually talking to some live truckers instead of endlessly repeating what the police are mumbling? I used to be a journalist, dear, but what you're writing is bumpf. Worse than useless.
Sincerely, Monika Ullmann

I love the word bumpf! It does not get enough use these days.

Thanks for being a sellout.

I know from experience that she was told how to cover this event, and she obliged because if she had not, she wouldn’t have a job at the end of the day. That’s how it’s done. If nothing else, the pandemic has ripped off the curtain behind which a corrupted media operates. The only journalist who is covering this story well is The Post’s Rex Murphy, the eminence grise of Canadian media.

It’s now blindingly obvious that the Mainstream Media is operating with an agenda. Anyone who still buys the messaging or massaging of the truth is simply in denial. It is a big deal, and I can relate to the incredulity of people who still ‘believe’. I am suffering from it myself. How could this have happened without some kind of global conspiracy? I am going to write about that topic next, but in this post I simply want to pay tribute to the truckers. They are my heroes and in a strange way, their heroic journey has reminded me of the one and only time I rode for an entire day with a long hauler. This story goes back about 70 years (!), but it shows that to me, the trucker has always been a symbol of all that is right with the so called ‘average guy’. There’s nothing average about them: they are tougher, smarter and simply better people than anyone calling themselves a politician in Ottawa.
I’ve had a soft spot for truckers and that cozy bunk at the back in which I spent an entire day while listening to my mother chat up the driver. This is so long ago that the only detail I recall is that feeling of warmth and safety while the big rig roared down the German Autobahn towards the town of Stuttgart. We were moving, my single mother and I, and somehow she managed to convince this trucker to take us along. And I get that same feeling of warmth and trust watching the incredible spectacle of Canadian truckers cheered on by thousands of Canadians while they make their way in the middle of winter across the entire continent to the Canadian capital city, Ottawa. It’s colder than Moscow, and the reception that they’re getting from the political class and most of the media is just as icy.
In a country that calls itself ‘democratic’, these fine people, standing up for their rights enshrined in the Canadian Constitution, are labeled every dirty name they can think of. Lead by our uber-woke PM Trudeau, who has once again proved his unfitness for any office by attacking them instead of listening to them. In fact, he conveniently discovered that he was ‘exposed’ to Omicron and so has to isolate for however long it takes for this trucker thing to go away. He and his entire government have been in hiding for so long that we got used to it. They simply issue decrees from on high and expect everyone to obey.
I think that is over. I and thousands like me are celebrating the truckers. They have reminded us that freedom is sweet and that we can and will fight to keep it alive in good old Canada. I hope that this Freedom Convoy is an inspiration to everyone hounded and stripped of their rights all over the world. I’m especially worried about what is going to happen in NeoNazi Austria. And yes, for once I too am proud to be Canadian.
Great patriotic post, Monika! I've been following the truckers and watching the videos have felt that warm feeling inside, that sense of trust and respect. Makes me want to get on a plane and fly to freezing Canada!!
Great post. Thankfully, although we had lockdowns for a while, our government has tried to steer a middle course. Since Freedom Day last year restrictions have been minimal. If you want a good chuckle, click this link: https://twitter.com/iromg/status/1429932554866630664
