The Nuremburg Code 2.0

To get into the proper Christmas spirit, I am attending a vigil for its 75th Anniversary

It’s remarkable how what happened during WW2 is echoed in our current Covid situation. It’s as if we finally have to learn the deeper lessons of that war. The most salient for these terrible times is surely that governments will stop at nothing to get the data they crave.

Back in 1945, the world discovered that German doctors in the concentration camps had been running ‘experiments’ on the helpless inmates. We know that they were horrendous. But why were they being done in the first place? It wasn’t just to torture people; there was a bigger agenda called ‘research’ based on extreme data harvesting. That might mean testing for the limits of human endurance in ice cold water, or the reactions to new pathogens injected into unwilling subjects. It was all done in the name of ‘scientific research’, and the value of what those ‘doctors’ discovered was so crucial that the US government offered the doctors, as well as rocket scientists like Wernher Magnus Maximilian Freiherr von Braun, a deal: you hand over your knowledge and we won’t prosecute you.

Seeing as the choice was between the gallows and being flown to the USA and lecturing the US Army Medical Corps or heading up an entire section of the US Military, they agreed. In the case of Braun, the promise was kept. He stayed in the US and taught his new masters a few new tricks. But the doctors weren’t so lucky; once they had spilled the scientific beans, they were flown back to Nuremberg, put on trial, and hanged. All this in the pursuit of knowledge that might prove useful in the deadly race against the Soviets. Data gathering, extraction and harvesting has and continues to be the unholy grail of all governments. And right now, the vaccine mandates, the overreach and bullying in the administration of these dangerous gene therapies, is beginning to look a lot like a global agenda of data extraction. We know that the gene injections don’t work like real vaccines, so one must ask, what is this really about?

Coincidentally, this week’s Canadian Munk Debates features CRISPR pioneer George Church and reproductive scientist Joyce Harper debating the motion: be it resolved, let’s engineer a better human being. They promote it thus: It’s a fascinating conversation that not only explores the ground-breaking gene editing techniques currently being developed, but the ethical and medical implications of changing our DNA to make us healthier humans.

The thing is, there are no coincidences. What if the enormous amount of data being collected on everybody who gets the experimental gene therapy is part of a bigger plan to ‘improve humanity’? If it is being discussed at an august outfit like the Munk Debates, then we know it is on the radar of the powerful. I wonder whose idea it was. As Einstein once observed, imagination is more important than intelligence. Perhaps we should use our power of imagination and just follow where it leads us.

But back to WW2. To make sure that nothing like the horrors of medical experiments on unwilling subjects ever happened again, the US and the UN fathered The Nuremberg Code. It is one of the few positive things that emerged from the utter moral degradation and physical destruction of WW2. We ignore its message at our peril, and it is a bulwark in a time of moral confusion and uncertainty. Here is the gist of it.

Introduction

The judgment by the war crimes tribunal at Nuremberg laid down 10 standards to which physicians must conform when carrying out experiments on human subjects in a new code that is now accepted worldwide.

This judgment established a new standard of ethical medical behaviour for the post World War II human rights era. Amongst other requirements, this document enunciates the requirement of voluntary informed consent of the human subject. The principle of voluntary informed consent protects the right of the individual to control his own body. (my bolding)

This code also recognizes that the risk must be weighed against the expected benefit, and that unnecessary pain and suffering must be avoided.

This code recognizes that doctors should avoid actions that injure human patients.

The principles established by this code for medical practice now have been extended into general codes of medical ethics.

As Common Ground, our local magazine for dissenters, commented in its recent issue:

The First Nuremberg principle demands “The voluntary consent of the human subject is absolutely essential” … “to be able to exercise free power of choice, without the intervention of any element of force, fraud, deceit, duress, over-reaching, or other ulterior form of constraint or coercion”.

The boundary between healing and killing: that’s the one we are precariously balancing on.

The final showdown at the Covid Corral will happen next February, when forced ‘vaccinations’ come into effect in Germany and Austria. In a crazy reversal of the political Anschluss, or Annexation, when Hitler and his minions marched across the German/Austrian border into the waiting, brotherly arms of the Austrians in 1938, we are witnessing an astonishing Reverse Covid Anschluss in 2021. The German State has annexed the regressive, repressive, and illegal Covid ‘vaccine’ mandates from Austria and have locked down the ‘unvaccinated’. For now. ‘Vaccinations’ will be mandatory all over Germany and Austria by next February. This is going to end badly.

According to the Spectator, Germany’s avid pro=vaxxers and anti-vaxxers are eerily matched in population size, comprising roughly 20 percent each, leaving 60 percent in the confused middle. But the majority of Germans are in favour of ‘vaccine mandates’, because the news that the experimental gene therapies do not stop transmissions or infections apparently hasn’t got out to the average Bundesbuerger.

Angela Merkel’s final words to the German Parliament upon leaving her chancellorship say it all: she positioned mandatory Covid ‘Vaccinations’ as an ‘act of national solidarity’. ‘Mutti’ Merkel, indeed.

As the German/English historian Katja Hoyer of the Spectator says:  …a forceful approach is doomed to backfire…and Politicians have already admitted that the law is probably unenforceable. She concludes with this:

Germans may be desperate to end the paralysing cycle of lockdown, but the majority cannot force its will on to the minority through state legislation dressed up as ‘an act of national solidarity’. This cure could be infinitely worse than the disease’.
